Full-Time Instructional Program Lead (Ontario Certified Teacher)
Appletree Learning Centre is a growing, dynamic organization serving the Halton region, Mississauga and Etobicoke. We specialize in providing specialized tutoring and academic remediation support to a diverse range of learners with learning exceptionalities, including children with Dyslexia, ADHD, and those who need foundational skill development in literacy and math or need general academic support. We are proud to use programs such as SRA Direct Instruction (DI) and JUMP Math to help students achieve meaningful academic growth. All instruction at Appletree is one-on-one, with in-person and online sessions available.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are a team of educators seeking a full-time Instructional Program Lead who is a skilled and committed Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT). We provide extensive training in this model and are looking for teachers who are excited to grow their instructional expertise while delivering consistent, high-quality, one-on-one instruction.
Please apply only if you are fully committed to this full-time role. We invest significantly in training and seek educators who can provide the continuity and consistency our students need to succeed. A commitment through the 2025-2026 school year is required.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured, individualized instruction in literacy and math (up to Grade 8 level)
Implement Direct Instruction (DI) programs with fidelity
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Collaborate with fellow teachers and the administrative team
Support student growth in reading, written expression, math, and executive functioning
Maintain consistency, reliability, and professionalism in a fast-paced teaching environment
Utilize effective communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
Assess and aid in overseeing student progress in mathematics and provide targeted support.
Qualifications:
Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT designation is required)
Strong instruction skills in both literacy and math (up to Grade 8 level), including support for students working below grade level
Able to work Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Comfortable teaching from scripted, highly structured programs
Kind, patient, committed, collaborative, flexible and motivated
Fluent in English language with strong oral and written communication skills
Organized, dependable, and professional with excellent time management
Valid Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
Assets:
Special Education qualifications or experience with Learning Disabilities and ADHD
Experience with Direct Instruction programs (e.g., Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading)
Experience teaching essay and paragraph writing to junior/intermediate students
Ability to travel between Etobicoke and Halton locations if needed
If you're ready to make a difference and grow your teaching career in a dynamic, supportive environment, we want to hear from you! This is truly a wonderful teaching opportunity for new and experienced teachers!
What We Are Offering:
Full-time employment with consistent hours
A starting salary range of $47,000-50,000 per year (salary based on teaching experience)
100% employer paid benefits starting after 3 months of employment
Paid, comprehensive training in DI programs
Ongoing professional development and opportunities for growth
A warm, collaborative team culture
A chance to be part of a dynamic team that makes a difference in the lives of students
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 12-8 pm.
